Mashable! - Mashable Follow Hits 100,000 Users 38 Days After Launch

We’re excited to announce today that Mashable Follow, our new social layer, has exceeded 100,000 signups fewer than 6 weeks after its public launch. The milestone was hit at the start of the Memorial Day weekend. We’re extremely encouraged by how you, our readers, have taken to the service and thankful for all the useful feedback you’ve provided.

And while we’re delighted to be hitting record traffic this past month, one aspect we’re very focused on this year is creating true engagement as we augment Mashable’s news coverage with deeply integrated social features. The Mashable community wants more than to be broadcast to: You want to engage in conversations around the news and share our stories with friends on social networks — we’re trying to enable that with Mashable Follow, and the early signs are extremely positive.

Mashable Follow Members: O ur Most Engaged Readers

Mashable Follow users are our most engaged readers, as the stats show:

-Mashable Follow users spend nearly 4 times as long on Mashable as ordinary users

-Follow users view twice as many pages per visit

We’ve always wanted to make Mashable more personalized, more social and more fun to use, but we’re blown away by how quickly our audience has taken to Follow. Of course we still have a lot of work to do and we appreciate feedback on how we can make Follow even better.

Further coverage of the announcement is available at Reuters.
