The newspaper is being distributed free in locations across the world Monday, and it features short stories, poetry and art. For those of you looking for a digital copy, the New Zealand music magazine Rip It Up has posted a PDF of it (the site currently seems to be overloaded with traffic, though).
As for the music, you can hear the album on Slate Monday (and it’s also available for streaming from Rolling Stone). Fans have been able to download the album since February and hear the entire album via YouTube. It is available on CD and vinyl this week.
Then there’s also what the band calls its "newspaper album": two 10-inch vinyl records and a digital download, plus The Universal Sigh and "a full-color piece of oxo-degr adeable plastic to hold it all together.” That version goes on sale May 9 for $48 to $53 (for the MP3 and WAV versions, respectively).
The album has received mixed reviews, with some critics labeling it a disappointment. Pitchfork, which named the band's OK Computer and Kid A the best albums of the ’90s and ’00s, respectively, gave King of Limbs a 7.9 out of 10 rating. BBC Comedy released a video depicting a support group for hardcore fans who were disappointed by the newest album. And the band's video for Lotus Flower has been lampooned on YouTube.
