The authorized biography of Steve Jobs is now available for pre-order from Amazon.com and Apple’s iBookstore.
iSteve: The Book of Jobs is slated for release on March 6, 2012 and is written by Walter Isaacson. Isaacson’s past biographies include Benjamin Franklin: An American Life, Einstein: His Life and Universe and Kissinger: A Biography.

Steve Jobs is famous for closely guarding his private life, which makes his decision to cooperate on an official biography even more interesting. Many elements of Jobs’s biography are already part of the cultural zeitgeist, thanks to books like Fire in the Valley (which was the basis for the telefilm Pirates of Silicon Valley), The Little Kingdom (and its follow-up, Return to the Little Kingdom), iCon: Steve Jobs and The Second Coming of Steve Jobs.
Presumably the book covers more recent events in Apple and Jobs’s history, especially those that simply haven’t been covered in other books. Most of them stop around 2001 or 2002, with the introduction of the iPod.
