Mashable! - Roku To Bring Angry Birds & Other Games to the TV

You can already play Angry Birds on a variety of smartphones, on your desktop, or – if you’re imaginative enough – you can even do it in real life. Now, internet TV platform Roku has partnered up with game maker Rovio to bring Angry Birds to the TV.

Roku plans to offer Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio video games, as well as an Angry Birds video channel featuring animated shorts based on the franchise, and sell Angry Birds merchandise through its Roku Channel Store.

All of these will be available on a new Roku player launching this summer, but the precise date remains unknown. Rovio is also in talks with other game makers, and plans to make additional announcements (and availability details) about those within the “next few weeks”.
