Mashable! - Ryan Dunn Crash Report Released Online: Blood Alcohol Twice

A new toxicology report indicates that Jackass star Ryan Dunn‘s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit at the time of his fatal car crash.

After initially stating that toxicology results would take four to six weeks to deliver, the West Goshen Township Police Department were able to provide a report Wednesday.

Early reports from Barnabies, the West Chester, Pennsylvania bar that Dunn was at before the accident, indicated that the star had three beers and three shots of liquor. The police report indicates that Dunn’s blood alcohol level was 0.196%, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08%. “No drugs of abuse” were detected.

The crash investigation indicates that Dunn’s vehicle, a Porsche, was traveling between 132 to 140 miles per hour at the time of the crash. That’s far faster than the 100 mph speed we previously estimated.

The incr edibly fast turnaround from the police department in the Dunn case may be associated with the growing media attention — online and off — related to the crash and the reaction from celebrities.

Film critic Roger Ebert has been criticized for insensitively remarking on Dunn’s fate on Twitter and Facebook. His Facebook page was briefly removed following complaints about his comment. Since then, Ebert has attempted to clarify his remarks, noting that the timing of his tweet may have been insensitive, but he still stood by them.
