Mashable! - iamamiwhoami Announces Festival Appearance Via Mysterious Ph

Once-mysterious musical project iamamiwhoami has announced today that it will finally perform live, at Sweden’s Way Out West Festival, via a phone number on the act’s website.

If you call the number, you’ll hear beeping — presumably from the end of iamamiwhoami’s newest video, “:john” — as well as lead singer Jonna Lee warbling. The site also states that that act will be performing at Way Out West, which is confirmed via the fest’s official site as well.

iamamiwhoami started off as an anonymous YouTube entity in December 2009, sending music bloggers links to baffling, Julie Taymor-esque videos.

Now, however, more than a year later, we know that iamamiwhoami is, in fact, a project headed by Swedish singer-songwriter Jonna Lee. The project even garnered Lee and Co. an MTV OMA nomination for Most Innovative Artist. However, it lost out to L ady Gaga.

As of yet, iamamiwhoami has yet to appear live — although it did have a live-streamed concert in November.
