Mashable! - Vancouver Police Ask the Public for Photo & Video Evidence o

Plenty of videos and photos of rioters starting fires, tipping cars and breaking windows after the Canucks lost in the Stanley Cup Finals made their way to the web Wednesday evening. Now authorities are hoping they’ll also make their way to police.

Both the mayor of Vancouver and the Vancouver Police Department have called for photos and videos of suspects.

Mayor Gregor Robertson told a Toronto news station that pictures and videos submitted by witnesses would be used in making arrests, and the Vancouver Police Department announced on its Twitter account that it would post instructions for submitting photos and videos of suspects.

Several unofficial Facebook Pages have also been launched for the purpose.

“Lets post those pictures and put a label on the losers that made this city look so bad, ruined my neighborhood, and acted with out any class what so ever,” one page says.
